Giving back
to nature
The entire Lumiere Rise project has been designed with people and the environment as a priority. The building, its outdoor spaces and interiors have been meticulously planned to exceed all sustainability requirements, with some residences achieving an 8.6 Star NatHERS Rating.
“Save money and the environment with superior design that places environmental integrity at its heart.”
The BESS tool assesses energy and water efficiency, thermal comfort, and overall environmental sustainability performance.
Lumiere Rise surpassed the minimum planning requirements in all these areas, highlighting its commitment to first rate development.
These smart design choices translate to reduced carbon footprints for residents and significant cost savings on their energy bills.
Solar Orientation
Architects have carefully positioned homes to maximise flow of natural light throughout
Responsible Construction
Commitment to a minimum of 80% of construction waste to be recycled or reused
Smart Appliances
Energy efficient appliances for lower bills, including induction cooktops to eliminate gas throughout the development
Rainwater Harvesting
A 343sqm roof catchment will divert rainwater to a 5500 litre rainwater tank for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing in some residences
Thermaly Efficient
Designed to prevent air leakage with double glazed windows and glass sliding doors that offer acoustic and temperature control
Solar Energy
A 1OkW solar photovoltaic system installed on the roof will offset the majority of electricity used in communal areas
Durable Materials
Long lasting and responsibly sourced products to reduce environmental pollution and save in long term replacement costs
Sustainable Design
Ecological sustainable design initiatives
Electric Car & Bike Charging
Communal car and bike charging stations in the secure parking basement
Low Toxicity
Breathe easy with low volatile organic compound finishes and materials
Natural Ventilation
Thoughtful sizing and placement of opening windows and doors to create a naturally ventilated corridor that reduces energy consumption and running costs of mechanical ducted systems
Sustainably Sourced Materials
All timber used in construction will be responsibly and sustainably sourced. Carpet underlays are made from 90% recycled materials and will be 100% recyclable when discarded
Clever Landscape Design
Drought tolerant plants and water efficient irrigation, such as sub surface drip irrigation, mulching and xeriscaping
Waste Management
Dedicated waste and recycling chutes to provide utmost convenience and encourage 100% recycling of everyday recyclable items
Central Heat Pump Hot Water
All hot water will be provided by a central CO2 heat pump water heater, which absorbs heat from the surrounding air and uses it to heat water. The system will be powered by the communal solar PV system
Clothes Lines
Installled to all residences to reduce the need for mechanical dryers
Smart Shading
Shading is provided to all east and west windows via a mix of balcony overhang, vertical devices, and retractable blinds to protect the building from the elements
Considered Lighting
Considered placement of LED and compact fluorescent lighting throughout to complement natural light
Energy efficient car park lighting system with most lighting controlled by motion sensors
Economical Heating +
Cooling
Reverse cycle, split system air conditioning and heating to allow for single room conditioning, while only consuming proportionate energy
